Border Conflicts: Pakistani Army also violated ceasefire, India responded

News India Live, Digital Desk: The Pakistani Army continued violation of the ceasefire agreement along the Line of Control, in a row. Kupwara, Baramullah, Poonch, Rajouri, Mendhar, Naushera, Sunderbani and Akhnoor sectors of Jammu and Kashmir were fired without any provocation, which the Indian Army responded to a balanced and appropriate manner.

A army spokesman said that on the night of 03-04 May 2025, there was small arms firing across the Line of Control from Pakistani posts. There is no reported loss or casualties in this incident. These incidents are happening at a time when there is an increased tension in India-Pakistan relations after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on 22 April. A total of 26 people including tourists were killed in this attack.

On 24 April, India suspended the Indus Water Treaty in response to the terrorist attack. Since then, Pakistan has been continuously firing in various areas of the Line of Control. This warning has also been issued by Pakistan that stopping the water received to Pakistan under the Indus Water Treaty will be considered as “war action”.

In February 2021, the two countries agreed to re -implement the ceasefire agreement. But after recent developments, tension between the two countries has increased again.
