New Delhi- Voting is going on today on Saturday for the three-tier panchayat elections in West Bengal. And so far many people have died in the election-related violence in the state. Officials have informed that polling has started from 7 am in 73,837 seats in the rural areas of the state. And 5.67 crore people will decide the fate of around 2,06 lakh candidates. According to officials, BJP’s polling agent Madhav Vishwas has been allegedly murdered in Falimari Gram Panchayat of Coochbehar district.
The BJP alleged that when Vishwas tried to enter the polling booth, he was stopped by Congress Honey TMC supporters and as the dispute escalated, they killed Vishwas. The TMC denied the allegations. According to the police in North 24 Parganas district Supporters of an independent candidate were lynched late night in Kanda Vargachi area. The deceased, identified as 41-year-old Abdullah, died during treatment at a local hospital in the morning, Superintendent of Police Bhaskar Mukherjee said. In protest against the murder, the local people blocked the road in the early hours.
A TMC worker was killed in late night election-related violence in Kapas Tanda area of Murshidabad district. Officials said the deceased was identified as Babar Ali. The ruling TMC said two of its workers were killed at Rejinagar and Khargram in Musheerabad district and another at Tufanganj in Pooch Bihar district.

Allegations of looting of ballot boxes and assault on voters were leveled by all the parties. Clashes were also reported from other parts of the state.
