There has been a debate going on for a long time whether Dayaben aka Disha Vakani will make a comeback in ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah Show’ or not. The show’s producer Asit Modi has recently talked about this issue in an interview.
He said that he wants Disha to return to the show. However, it is difficult to do this now. Asit Modi also said that auditions are going on for the character of Dayaben. If any actress gets finalized then they will welcome her. Disha Vakani went on maternity leave in September 2017. Since then she has not returned to the show. Asit Modi said, ‘It is very important to bring Dayaben back, because I also miss her. Sometimes circumstances become such that some work gets delayed. Sometimes the story becomes long. Sometimes some big events happen. There were elections in 2024, IPL and then World Cup matches, it was the rainy season. Due to some reasons it gets delayed.
The producer further said, ‘I am still trying. Although I think Disha Vakani will not return to the show. they have two children. She is like my sister. Even today we have a very close relationship with his family. My sister Disha Vakani tied Rakhi to me. His father and brother are also family to me. Now it is difficult for him to return to the show. Women’s lives change after marriage. Working with small children and managing the house is a bit difficult. But I am still positive. Somewhere I feel that God will do a miracle and he will come back. It will be a good thing if he comes. If for some reason he does not come, I will have to bring another Dayaben for the show.
