The body of an unidentified 60-year-old man was found at Gorai Beach on Friday around 10 am. It remains uncertain whether the incident was a suicide, murder, or accident. The Gorai police have registered an accidental death report.
Meanwhile, on Thursday night, the Borivali police station received a call reporting that a man had slipped and fallen into the water at the Borivali jetty. However, nobody was found during the search. On Friday morning, the body of a 60-year-old man was discovered near the Gorai jetty.
The police have not confirmed whether the body found at Gorai jetty is the same man who fell at the Borivali jetty the previous night. The deceased is described as being approximately 5.5 feet tall, slim, bald, and wearing a pink checked shirt and full-length pants. The police did not find any identification documents or a mobile phone, making it difficult to confirm his identity. Efforts are underway to trace his identity and locate his family.
A police officer stated, “On Thursday night, a man reportedly slipped from a boat at the Borivali jetty. Despite search efforts by the police and locals, his body was not found. While we cannot confirm if this is the same man, we are investigating the possibility that his body drifted to Gorai.”
The Gorai police have circulated the man’s photo to all police stations to help identify him and contact his family.
