Fancy painting amidst the forest reserves, then  the opportunity by Bombay Natural History Society (BNHS) is worth exploring. .

“Be a budding artist or someone who simply enjoys the outdoors, this beginner-friendly outdoor sketching session is the perfect way to immerse yourself in the beauty of nature while learning the art of expressive landscape drawing,” said an organiser. 

The activity will be held on March 2 and it will be conducted  under the  expert guidance of artist Ashvini Menon. Participants will explore simple yet effective sketching techniques to capture the essence of their surroundings. ” Since the idea is to mix nature and art together the  session includes an easy 1-2 km nature walk, making it suitable for all skill levels,” informed the organiser. 

The journey begins at 7:00 a.m. at BNHS’s Conservation Education Centre (CEC), where participants will set off to observe, sketch, and learn. The programme will conclude by 9:00 a.m. 

The session is open to both BNHS members and non-members, with a participation fee of Rs 700 for members and Rs 800 for others. 

The cost is informed to include entry permissions (if applicable) and expert guidance from BNHS.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own art supplies, including a black sketch pen, black writing pen, 6B or 8B pencils, an eraser, a few cotton balls, a rough cloth, a small bowl for water, and a sketchbook or drawing papers. A minimal amount of water (10-20ml) will be required, which can be taken from their water bottle. Additional art materials can also be carried based on individual preference.
