BMC Undertakes Road Concreting In Mankhurd Under Sewerage Project After Citizens Highlights The Issue | X|@mybmc
Mumbai: The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) conducted road concreting in the Mankhurd. The initiative was announced via X on Friday. After the citizens made the complaints regarding the damaged road of the Mankhurd the Additional Municipal Commissioner Abhijit Bangar carried out the concreting road work.
In the X post, BMC highlighted pictures of the concreting work on the road and also mentioned the concrete road work carried out in the Godrej premises at Vikhroli. While conducting the road work, BMC used the pre-cast method to construct the road experimentally.

In the X post BMC stated, “मानखुर्द – आगरवाडी गाव येथील कै. नीतू मांडके मार्ग आणि चेंबूर येथील महर्षी दयानंद सरस्वती मार्ग काँक्रिटीकरण कामाची अतिरिक्त महानगरपालिका आयुक्त (प्रकल्प) श्री. अभिजीत बांगर यांनी काल (दिनांक २० मार्च २०२५) रात्री प्रत्यक्ष भेट देऊन पाहणी केली.
आगरवाडी येथील कै. नीतू मांडके मार्ग कार्यस्थळी स्लम्प चाचणी केली असता अपेक्षेप्रमाणे परिणाम (रिजल्ट) न आल्याने कॉंक्रिटीकरणासाठी आलेले मिश्रण (लोड) नाकारत ‘आरएमसी’ वाहन माघारी पाठविण्यात आले. तसेच, नवीन मिश्रण मागविण्यात आले. त्यानंतर काँक्रिटीकरण सुरु करण्यात आले.
यशवंतनगर-चेंबूर येथील रस्ते विकास कामाबाबत नागरिकांच्या तक्रारी प्राप्त झाल्या होत्या. तेथेदेखील श्री. बांगर यांनी पाहणी केली. मलनिःसारण प्रकल्प विभाग अंतर्गत रस्ते कामापूर्वी भूमिगत नलिका अंथरली जाणार आहे. त्याचे खोदकाम सुरु आहे. रस्ते विभाग आणि मलनिःसारण प्रकल्प विभाग यांनी समन्वय साधून पावसाळ्यापूर्वी सर्व कामे मार्गी लावावीत, असे निर्देश श्री. बांगर यांनी दिले.
विक्रोळी येथील ‘गोदरेज’ आवारात प्री कास्ट पद्धतीद्वारे काँक्रिट रस्त्याची बांधणी करण्यात आली आहे. या रस्त्याची देखील श्री. बांगर यांनी पाहणी केली. प्रायोगिक तत्त्वावर प्री कास्ट पद्धतीचा अवलंब करून महानगरपालिकेला रस्ता बांधणी करणे शक्य आहे का, याबाबत सविस्तर चर्चा करण्यात आली.
भारतीय तंत्रज्ञान संस्था (आय. आय. टी. मुंबई) चे प्रा. श्री. पी. वेदगिरी, सहायक प्रा. सोलोमन डिब्बार्ती, महानगरपालिकेचे उपायुक्त (पायाभूत सुविधा) श्री. शशांक भोरे, रस्ते व वाहतूक विभागाचे उपप्रमुख अभियंता (पूर्व उपनगरे) श्री. संजय सोनवणे, उप प्रमुख अभियंता डॉ. विशाल ठोंबरे यांच्यासह गुणवत्ता नियंत्रण संस्थेचे प्रतिनिधी यावेळी उपस्थित होते”.
The post translates to: “Mankhurd—Additional Municipal Commissioner (Projects) Shri. Abhijit Bangar inspected the concreting work of Late Neetu Mandke Marg in Agarwadi village and Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati Marg in Chembur yesterday (March 20, 2025) night.
When the slump test was conducted at the Late Neetu Mandke Marg work site in Agarwadi, the results were not as expected, so the ‘RMC’ vehicle was sent back, rejecting the load for concreting. Also, a new mix was ordered. After that, concreting was started.
Complaints were received from citizens regarding the road development work at Yashwantnagar-Chembur. Mr. Bangar inspected there too. An underground pipe will be laid before the road work under the Sewerage Project Department. Its excavation is in progress. Mr. Bangar directed that the Road Department and the Sewerage Project Department should coordinate and get all the work done before the monsoon.
A concrete road has been constructed using pre-cast method in the ‘Godrej’ premises at Vikhroli. This road was also inspected by Mr. Bangar. A detailed discussion was held on whether it is possible for the Municipal Corporation to construct a road using pre-cast method on an experimental basis.
Prof. Shri. P. Vedgiri of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT Mumbai), Assistant Prof. Solomon Dibarti, Deputy Commissioner (Infrastructure) of Municipal Corporation Shri. Shashank Bhore, Deputy Chief Engineer (Eastern Suburbs) of Roads and Transport Department Shri. Sanjay Sonawane, Deputy Chief Engineer Dr. Vishal Thombre along with representatives of the Quality Control Institute were present on this occasion.”
