Condemning the inhuman treatment given to the H-West (Bandra) ward’s Assistant Engineer (AE) Sachin Hanamdar, the Municipal Engineer’s Association (MEA) is launching a protest at the H-West ward office on Monday. The MEA demanding the suspension of Assistant Municipal Commissioner, Vinayak Vispute, who has been heading the H-West ward for last five years.
FPJ had reported on January 1 that AE Hanamdar was allegedly locked out of his cabin on Vispute’s orders and that Hanamdar was transferred defying the Municipal Commissioner’s order. Activist Aftab Siddiqui who brought the incident to the fore said that she has been seeking an appointment with BMC Commissioner Bhushan Gagrani and Deputy Municipal Commissioner Vishwas Mote, however is still waiting for a response.
Speaking with FPJ, MEA’s President Ramesh Deshmukh said, “The treatment given to AE Hanamdar is not only insulting but it is subordination of Commissioner’s order. Hanamdar was relieved from his current post while he was on Election Duty. This is against the rules. And locking his cabin is nothing but revengeful behaviour towards a public servant.”
Deshmukh said that the association demands the suspension of Vispute for his subordination and revengeful behaviour. “We have already informed Khar police station about our protest and we expect atleast 1,000 BMC engineers to join the protest.”
Speaking with FPJ DMC Mote said, “I have received the complaint and heard about the protest. I will take review of the matter and we will see what can be worked out.”
