In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), the BMC clarified that these messages are completely false and baseless. The civic body assured Mumbaikars that the city’s water supply system is functioning smoothly and that clean, disinfected, and fully treated water is being delivered to all areas without interruption.

An X post shared by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) they mentioned that “It has come to our notice that misleading messages are being circulated on social media, falsely claiming that water is being supplied without filtration due to a breakdown in the water purification plant. These claims are entirely false,” the BMC wrote in its post.

Officials confirmed that there has been no breakdown or malfunction in any of the city’s water treatment facilities. Regular quality checks and strict purification protocols continue to be followed to ensure the health and safety of the citizens.

The BMC also appealed to residents to refrain from spreading unverified information and to act responsibly on digital platforms. “Please do not believe or forward such rumours. Always verify any information before sharing it on social media,” the post added.
