‘5K In Wallet, No Cabs, No Support’: BluSmart Users Fume As Services Halt; Here’s How You Can Reclaim Your Refund | (Photo Courtesy: X/@yogiliman)
A wave of frustration swept through the users of BluSmart after the electric cab aggregator abruptly stopped taking ride bookings across Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, and Bengaluru on Thursday, April 17.
With no official statement from the company, and the application still live on app stores but non-functional for bookings, customers were left staring at their unutilised funds in the Blu Wallets and subscriptions with no immediate clarity on a refund.
Users Outraged Over Cancelled Rides, Lost Money
The sudden halt in services comes amid a Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) probe into BluSmart’s backer, Gensol Engineering, and its promoters, Anmol Singh Jaggi and Puneet Singh Jaggi, over an alleged fund misuse. The fallout has seen both barred from the securities market and BluSmart’s latest $50 million funding round fall through.
BluSmart’s silence on the controversy triggered a storm of complaints from users on social media. One user wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “#Gensol #BluSmart I have Rs 900 in my blusmart wallet, can someone please explain to me how to withdraw that wallet amount?”
Another posted, “I got around 6k in the BluSmart wallet, I didn’t know that we can take the refund. Did they transfer to your bank account or the source account?”
A customer who had scheduled a ride said, “@BluSmartIndia I see my rides are getting automatically cancelled. Why is BluSmart doing this fraud? I had a ride scheduled for today. PFA screenshot. If you can’t provide cabs, please refund my money from wallet.”
One user noted, “In shambles to know that BluSmart is not letting any existing booking change and not allowing any further booking. 5k in wallet and over 2k as Elite Subscription lost without any update from the team. Shameful.”
