Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): A blood-stained body of an 18-year-old girl was found in the hills of Devtal in Jabalpur on Friday.
According to information, the incident occurred in Jabalpur’s Garha police station area. Deep knife wounds were discovered on her neck and stomach, raising strong suspicion of a brutal murder.
According to police, the girl was originally from Khajuraho in Chhatarpur district. She had come with her family to work on the renovation of a temple located in Devtal.
On the morning of the incident, she had gone alone into the nearby forested hills to relieve herself but did not return for over an hour. Concerned, her family started searching for her and calling out her name in the jungle.
After an intense search, they found her blood-soaked body lying in the bushes. Police were immediately informed.
Investigation on
The Garha Police, Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team, and dog squad reached the spot and began collecting crucial evidence from the scene.
During the investigation, the girl’s sister-in-law, Urmila Ahirwar, alleged that the girl was raped before being murdered. She has demanded justice and immediate arrest of those responsible.
Garha CSP Devendra Pratap Singh Chauhan confirmed that an FIR has been registered and the investigation is underway from all angles. He added that further action will be taken after the post-mortem report is received.
Meanwhile, the entire area remains in shock, and the police have intensified their search for suspects.
