Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Blind players defeated sighted players in a unique and inspiring cricket match played under the Shivaji Trophy Cricket Tournament at Ankur Cricket Ground in the city on Tuesday.
The match was played between the Blind Cricket Team and the Shivaji Cricket Team to send out the message that talent and passion are not bound by any physical limits.
After winning the toss, the Blind Cricket Team decided to bat first and performed brilliantly and scored 117 runs in the stipulated 10 overs. The players of the team thrilled the audience with disciplined play and excellent shots.
In response, when the Shivaji Cricket Team came on the field, they had to struggle against the tight bowling and agile fielding of the Blind Cricket Team.
The entire team could score only 52 runs in 10 overs, due to which the Blind Cricket Team registered a big victory. Madhya Pradesh Blind Cricket Team captain and international player Sonu Gowalkar, Damoh’s women cricketer and former Madhya Pradesh women’s cricket team captain Sushma Patel were present. Vipin Tiwari, organised this match and gave a platform to the players’ indomitable willpower and sportsmanship.
Ministers Gotam Tetwal, Lakhan Patel and MLA Bhagwan Das Sabnani marked their presence at the event.
