Mumbai: BJP Suresh Dhas who has been consistently raising his voice over shocking developments in Beed district, has demanded the special investigation team (SIT) to unearth properties amassed by MCOCA detainee Valmik Karad that it will reach a higher level, indicating to his political bosses.
Meanwhile, the public outcry over the brutal killing of Massjog sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh reached Mumbai on Saturday. A Jan Aakrosh Morcha was taken out from the Metro Cinema to Azad Maidan. Speaking before the participants, NCP MLA Jitendra Awhad asked why some people were scared of Valmik Karad, and whether he possessed some incriminating video clips of them.

Awhad raised the issue of Akshay Shinde’s encounter related to the Badlapur student sexual molestation case. He raised a sort of stir saying Shinde did not molest the student and he was killed to save people who were responsible for it.

Dhananjay Deshmukh, Vaibhavi Deshmukh, brother and daughter of the late sarpanch, addressed the crowd gathered for the morcha.

“We want justice for Santosh Deshmukh as well as for Somnath Suryawanshi,” said Dhananjay Deshmukh. Somanth Suryawanshi died in police custody after the violence in Parbhani over the desecration of a replica of the Constitution.

MLA Suresh Dhas was expected to participate in the morcha but he reached late. Speaking to media persons, he said that he will not stop until justice is meted out to the family members of late Deshmukh. He disapproved of Awhad’s statement on the encounter of Akshay Shinde.
