Bengaluru: Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Tejasvi Surya tied the knot with Tamil Nadu-based singer and Bharatanatyam artiste Sivasri Skandaprasad in a traditional ceremony on Thursday, March 6.
As pr reports, the wedding took place at a private resort on the Kanakapura Road in Bengaluru, with several close family members, friends, and dignitaries in attendance.
The couple’s pre-wedding festivities began on Wednesday (March 5) evening with the Varapooje ceremony, marking the start of the celebrations. The wedding day was in line with traditional South Indian rituals and ceremonies like Kashi Yatra, Jeerige Bella Dhaare, Nirikshane Muhurta, Mangalya Dharane, and Laja Homa.
The couple will officially exchanged vows between 9:30 AM and 10:15 AM, during the auspicious Tula Lagna period. Following the wedding, a Gruhapravesha ceremony will be held at Tejasvi Surya’s residence in Girinagar, to welcome the bride.
The wedding reception is reportedly scheduled for March 9 at Gayatri Vihar in Palace Grounds, Bengaluru, from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM. A host of prominent political figures, including Karnataka Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Ministers, and senior BJP leaders, are expected to attend the reception.
