BJP MLA Suresh Dhas Calls for Investigation into ₹900 Crore Mahadev Betting App Scam in Beed | File Photo
Mumbai: The Mahadev Online Betting App, already under intense scrutiny for its alleged role in large-scale financial irregularities, is now at the center of a fresh controversy in Maharashtra’s Beed district. BJP MLA Suresh Dhas has raised concerns over transactions worth Rs 900 crore allegedly routed through a single individual via the app in Tembhurni village.
Dhas has called for an immediate and in-depth investigation into what he claims is a highly organized network, with potential international links. The BJP legislator met with Beed Superintendent of Police Navneet Kawat on Friday, submitting a formal complaint outlining his concerns over the vast scale of the transactions. “The sheer magnitude of this scam is alarming. A single person being the conduit for such a huge amount raises serious questions about the system’s integrity. Authorities must take swift action,” Dhas remarked.
While Dhas did not directly name any individuals, he strongly suggested the involvement of a powerful figure, widely known as ‘Aka,’ in orchestrating the betting activities. “Whenever there’s a major case in Beed, ‘Aka’ is always behind it. This time is no different. He’s also been encroaching on poor people’s lands, which is a matter of great concern,” Dhas alleged.
Additionally, Dhas claimed that the corruption linked to the Mahadev Betting App is not limited to Beed and could have international ramifications. “If we investigate thoroughly, we’ll trace the links all the way to Malaysia. There’s a ‘Aka’ behind this, someone who’s orchestrating everything from behind the scenes,” he said.
According to Dhas, people from the Parli region have allegedly earned billions through the Mahadev app, with a ‘Aka’ pulling the strings. He stressed that the investigation into the app’s financial network could uncover a web of criminal activity stretching far beyond local boundaries.
“The deeper we dig, the more connections we’ll find. From Parli to Malaysia, the tentacles of this operation are widespread,” Dhas concluded.
The MLA also hinted at possible complicity of two local officials in the scam but chose not to name them publicly. “The Superintendent of Police has been informed about these individuals, and I trust appropriate actions will be taken,” Dhas added.
Despite the serious nature of the allegations, Beed’s newly appointed Superintendent of Police, Navneet Kawat, has refrained from making any public comments on the formal complaint or the ongoing investigation. Sources reveal that Kawat is currently leading the preliminary inquiry, and concentrating on the transaction trail linked to the Betting App.
