BJP MLA Balmukundacharya apologises after being booked for hurting religious sentiments over Jama Masjid posters in Jaipur | X – @BMacharyaBJP

Jaipur: The BJP MLA Balmukundacharya from Hawa Mahal seat of Jaipur has been booked for hurting religious sentiments and disturbing harmony after an incident of putting up controversial posters outside Jama Masjid located in Johri Bazaar of the capital Jaipur late on Friday night. However, the MLA has apologized for his act on Saturday.

As per reports, a protest was called against the Pahalgam terror attack in Badi Choupad of Jaipur on Friday evening. After the protest, BJP MLA Balmukundacharya with his supporters reached nearby Jama Masjid in Johri Bazar and allegedly raised slogans of ‘Jai Shri Ram’ and pasted posters with ‘Pakistan Murdabad’ written on them on the stairs of the mosque and also stepped on them.

At that time, night prayers were going on inside the mosque, which caused anger among the people present there. The videos of the incident got viral and a large number of people gathered outside the mosque and started protesting against the MLA.

The situation became tensed and heavy police force was called to control the mob. Jaipur Police Commissioner Biju Joseph George said that as soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot and calmed the situation. Heavy police force were deployed at the spot. After persuasion, the crowd was gradually removed.

On the complaint of the Jama Masjid administration, an FIR has been lodged against MLA Balmukund Acharya for hurting religious sentiments and disturbing the peace.

However, the situation remained peaceful in the city on Saturday, but additional security forces have been deployed in Johri Bazaar and Badi Chaupad area.

Jaipur Police Additional Commissioner Dr. Rameshwar Singh said that legal action has been initiated in the matter. The situation is being closely monitored. Additional forces have been deployed in sensitive areas of the city.

In the meantime, the MLA has apologized for the incident. On Saturday, in a social media post, the MLA said, “I did not say anything against any community. I have respect for all religions. If anyone is hurt by my words, I regret and want to clarify that my purpose was only to talk about the country’s interest. It is important to maintain communal harmony in the country. Everyone should come together and give a message of unity and brotherhood in the society.”
