Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The announcement of names of the BJP’s district unit presidents indicates that the election to the post of its state unit president is in the offing. The party’s state unit president will be elected in this month.
To hold the election of the party’s state unit president, it is necessary to elect the presidents of the half of the district units in the state. The election of the district unit presidents has opened the door to the state president’s election. Union minister Dharmendra Pradhan has been appointed electoral officer for the state unit polls.
According to sources in the BJP, dates for the election will be announced soon. In the BJP, such elections are held through a process. The process, which begins with the submission of nomination forms, continues till scrutiny of papers and voting. Just as the date for the state president’s election is getting nearer, the candidates are becoming become active. It is clear that present state president of the BJP VD Sharma will not be given another chance. Those who are aspiring for the post have plunged into action.
Legislator Hemant Khandelwal, former minister Narottam Mishra, Arvind Bhadoria, Brajendra Pratap Singh, Lal Singh Arya and MP Faggan Singh Kulaste are strong candidates for the coveted post. The senior leaders of the BJP are trying to push their supporters’ candidature for the post. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, BJP’s state unit president VD Sharma, Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar and many other leaders have become active.
