Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): A bizarre case of theft was reported from Madhya Pradesh’s Gwalior on Thursday, where a gang used a luxury car to steal goats from rural areas, in order to avoid suspicion.

What’s more peculiar was that the miscreants would steal villagers’ goats for non-veg parties.

However, their modus operandi came to light after a villager lodged a complaint and police started to chase the gang. After police started following the thieves, the culprits abandoned the luxury car and fled with the goats.

Used luxury car to avoid suspicion

According to information, the incident occurred in the Dagiapura area under the Behat police station. The locals informed the police that a gang has been stealing goats from their houses lately. Also, complaints about stolen goats and sheep became frequent in the police station.

This gang used a luxury car to carry out their thefts, which made it harder for anyone to suspect their intentions.

A resident of Dagiapura, Mangal Singh also reported the theft of his goat to the police. He said that he was grazing four goats near the roadside when a car stopped nearby. One of the men came out, wandered for a while, and suddenly picked up a goat and ran into the car.

Seeing this, Mangal Singh immediately informed the police.

Thieves escape with goats, leave car behind

After receiving the complaint, the police chased the car. Being scared, the thieves abandoned the car in a forest and managed to escape with the stolen goat.

Investigations revealed that the car belonged to Anil Yadav, a resident of Scindia Nagar near Shabd Pratap Ashram. The police are now tracking the gang through the car’s owner.

Locals have reported frequent incidents of goat theft and alcohol consumption in the area, along with animal bones found at some spots.

Police have started making efforts to arrest the gang.
