Mumbai – The accused woman has been sentenced to life imprisonment in the judgment given by the Panvel Sessions Court in the Food Poogening case in Mahad village of Raigad. This punishment has been given to a woman named Pragya aka Jyoti Survse.
According to the details of the case, in 2018 there was a Vastu Puja program for a house in Mahad village. At that time, 86 people had food poisoning by eating food during the program. Five people died after eating poisonous pesticides. In this incident, the court sentenced the woman to life imprisonment while giving the verdict.
The accused woman was the daughter -in -law of the same family. Pragya aka Jyoti Survse did this act. He had mixed poison in his food as his mother -in -law, husband, brother -in -law and family members were harassing him. On the day of Vastu Puja, he took medicine and put it in a bucket of lentils at 12 noon. Jyoti took this step because she was angry with the people of the village.
Jyoti was married to Suresh. His family members used to humiliate and mentally torture him. He was constantly scolded for his wet van, cooking and breakdown of his first marriage. So he admitted that he did this act to teach everyone a lesson.
After the incident, the police came into action and investigated the possibility of food poisoning due to pesticides. Jyoti went to Bard Hospital for treatment for two-three days. This made the police suspicious and after interrogating him, he confessed the crime.
