Bird once again in Maharashtra: The risk of flu is increasing. Officials have become alert after a mysterious death of 6,831 out of 8,000 chickens in a poultry farm in Kherda (Jirapur) village in Karanja taluka. The report on February 27 confirmed that the death was caused by bird flu infection. After this, the district administration has issued a high alert immediately.

The chickens were continuously dying in the poultry farm between 20 and 25 February. Samples of dead chickens were sent to the laboratory at Akola for testing. After this, a detailed investigation was also conducted at the National High Security Animal Disease Institute in Pune and the laboratory at Bhopal. The H5N1 virus (bird flu) was confirmed in the report on 27 February.

Chickens will be destroyed.

After the report surfaced, the campaign to sanitize the affected area has been intensified. The system is busy killing the remaining chickens. After the report, the movement and sale of chickens from the poultry farm has been banned. Special committees have been formed under the supervision of the officer in each taluka. The Collector and District Disaster Management Authority issued orders to implement preventive measures to prevent the spread of bird flu.

Bird flu is growing rapidly

The virus has eliminated millions of birds in many countries around the world in the last two years and has severely affected many animals, including not only the birds but also the rise, seal, the harbor, and foxes.

The disease spreads rapidly by being close to infected birds. Bird flu is also known as Avian Influenza. It can also spread rapidly into humans by direct contact of infected birds or their stool.
