Big news is coming out about everything from bike to car. We all have used app-based taxi services like Ola-Uber. Ola and Uber have strengthened their position in the Indian market and now they have become the most popular taxi services. However, due to the dependence of people on these taxi services, they sometimes charge more fees from customers and sometimes the amount taken is quite high. In fact, if you find a taxi on two different devices, there will be a great difference in prices. In view of this, the government has planned to start its app-based taxi service.
Home Minister Amit Shah has announced this in Parliament. Its purpose is to provide alternative taxi service to people at low cost and give better salary to drivers. The Government of India aims to set up a ‘cooperative taxi’ service by reducing the monopoly of Ola and Uber taxi services in the market. This will increase the profits and the drivers will get good salary. The government has not yet said when the taxi service will be started. However, after launching, India will be the first country where there will be an app-based taxi service run by the government. The government will include a two -wheeler taxi, auto rickshaw taxi and car in this taxi service.
However, the government may face some challenges in implementing the app-based taxi service. There may be a strong response against Ola and Uber, as they have been in the market for more than a decade. Apart from this, the government had earlier tried to start some taxi services but it was not as successful. However, the government now has better technology and good support, which can make this service successful. In addition, if people get the benefit of low price and ease of use, then they will support this decision.
