The attack took place around 9:00 PM when the victims, Shubham, Ved, and Vicky, residents of Chak Ghat, were on their way to attend a wedding in Prayagraj. According to India TV, the trio had briefly stopped their vehicle in the Naribari area when two motorcycle-borne assailants, who were reportedly following them, hurled a crude bomb at their car and fled the scene.

CCTV footage from the area shows the moment of the attack, with the explosion shattering the car’s windows and causing panic among the passengers, who scrambled out of the vehicle amid the chaos. Fortunately, all three victims received timely medical attention and were discharged after initial treatment.

Dispute Suspected Behind Attack

After the CCTV footage surfaced, Prayagraj DCP Vivek Yadav ordered ACP Kunj Lata to initiate a manhunt for the attackers, as per the India TV report. In addition to the local Shankargarh Police, the Special Operations Group (SOG) from Yamuna Nagar was also roped in to assist with the investigation.

The victims’ family runs a tractor agency in Chak Ghat, and police suspect the attack may have stemmed from a financial dispute intended to intimidate them.
