Mumbai: A major road accident occurred in Mumbai’s Vikhroli area, where a speeding unidentified vehicle struck a man riding a scooter. The scooter rider sustained severe injuries in the incident. Upon receiving the information, the police reached the spot and rushed the injured man to Rajawadi Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
The deceased has been identified as Narayan Vijay Bobhate. Police have registered a case against the unknown driver and have initiated a search operation.
The deceased’s relative, Anil Ghule, told FPJ, “We do not know who exactly hit Narayan’s Activa and caused the accident because the police informed us that there is no CCTV at the incident site. We will only feel satisfied when the accused is caught and action is taken against them,” Ghule added.
According to Vikhroli Police, the accident took place on the morning of December 11 at around 9:30 AM. The victim, Bobhate, was riding his scooter from Thane to Andheri to rush office when he was hit by a speeding vehicle near Bhandup bus stop. The vehicle fled the scene after the collision.
The injured man was immediately taken to the hospital, and his family was informed about the incident by the police. However, Bobhate succumbed to his injuries during treatment. Police are scanning CCTV footage to identify the accused driver. The investigation into the case is ongoing.
