Bihar Weather Update Today: The severe cold and fog in Bihar is not stopping. On Monday, the Meteorological Department has predicted light to moderate fog in many parts of the state, especially the capital Patna and surrounding districts. The situation of dense fog may become more severe in the areas adjacent to the foothills of the Himalayas. Also, the minimum temperature is predicted to drop by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius within the next 48 hours.

Sunday weather: Drop in temperature and dry environment

The weather of Bihar remained dry on Sunday. During this period, the maximum temperature of the state was recorded at 23.8 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature was 9.9 degrees Celsius. A drop in temperature was seen in most of the districts of the state including the capital Patna. Due to westerly winds the cold increased further in the afternoon.

Drop in temperature recorded in 28 cities

A decrease in maximum temperature was recorded in 28 cities of the state including Patna, while the minimum temperature in 26 cities also declined. The situation of dense fog was most severe in Valmiki Nagar. The maximum temperature of Patna recorded a drop of 1.2 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature dropped by 0.9 degrees Celsius.

Condition of Valmiki Nagar:

A steep drop of 7 degrees Celsius was recorded in the temperature in Valmiki Nagar. Apart from this, light to moderate fog was observed in other districts, due to which traffic and normal life was also affected.

Situation similar to the cold of 2024

This time also the cold in Bihar is looking as effective as in 2024. Last year, people faced cold till the end of February. The hide and seek of cold troubled people again and again. This year too, the Meteorological Department has not yet given any indication as to when there will be relief from the cold.

Strong winds will increase the chill

According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, in the next two days, moderate to strong winds will blow in most parts of the state, which may increase the cold. However, there is no possibility of any significant change in the maximum and minimum temperatures during this period.

Dense fog will be effective in North Bihar

Dense fog has been predicted in the districts of North Bihar – Sitamarhi, Darbhanga, West Champaran, Madhubani, Kishanganj, Supaul and Araria. Traffic may be affected due to low visibility in these areas. People have been advised to remain alert and travel safely.
