Purnea police have made a startling disclosure in the case of the recent threat received by independent Bihar MP Pappu Yadav.
Two days after the incident, the police arrested Ram Babu from Bhojpur, who had sent the threatening video. During questioning, he revealed that the video was made by individuals close to the MP.
As per reports, the accused admitted to being instructed by associates of the MP to create and release the threatening video. In exchange, he was promised a sum of Rs 2 lakh, of which Rs 2,000 was transferred immediately. Ram Babu also claimed he was offered a position within the MP’s political outfit, the Jan Adhikar Party (JAP).
Police have clarified that Babu has no links to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, as initially suspected, and is instead a long-time supporter of Pappu Yadav and a former JAP worker.
The police investigation revealed that Babu had prepared two videos: one that was made public and another that was intended for later release. The authorities are now probing deeper into the involvement of the MP’s associates, although the identities of those who instigated the threat remain undisclosed.
The investigation continues as the police aim to uncover the full extent of the conspiracy.
