There has been an encounter between police and criminals once again in Araria, Bihar. The encounter took place between police and miscreants in Narpatganj police station area on Friday night (21 March 2025). It is said that Patna STF and local police station police had laid siege near Thalaha Canal. During this, firing started from both sides.
Chunmun Jha was accused of robbery in Araria and Tanishq in Purnia.
In this incident, Chunmun Jha, an accused in the Tanishq showroom robbery case, was injured by a police bullet. He was shot at three places including legs and chests. He fell as soon as the bullet was shot, after which the police caught him. He was immediately brought to Araria Sadar Hospital in an injured state.

A team of Patna STF reached Araria to arrest him. When the team reached the Thalha Canal with the help of the local police, the miscreants started firing. After this, retaliation was also taken by the police.
Five soldiers were also injured in this incident.
In the encounter, Narpatganj Police Station Kumar Vikas and STF jawan Mo. Mushtaq, driver Nagesh (STF), JC Shahabuddin (STF) and JC Deepak Shah (STF) were injured. Two locals were also injured. ASP Rampukar Singh took charge on behalf of Araria Police. The police have confirmed the incident.
Araria SP Anjani Kumar said that Chunmun Jha was accused of robbery in Araria and Tanishq Purnia. He is also an accused in many other cases. He had information. STF was continuously following him. Police received information about reaching Narpatganj. As soon as he saw the police team, he fired bullets. The police also opened fire in defense. He was immediately brought to Narpatganj Hospital after being shot. From there he was referred to Sadar Hospital. He is undergoing treatment. Five policemen have also been injured. There were two criminals there. While one managed to escape.
