Bihar CM Nitish Kumar has embroiled himself in a fresh controversy. A video of Nitish Kumar has taken the internet by storm in which he can be seen ‘speaking and greeting’ during the national anthem.

The incident reportedly took place during the inauguration of the Sepaktakraw World Cup in Patna, which is being held in Bihar for the first time, where Nitish Kumar’s eccentric behavior was captured on cameras.

The viral video shows that as the anthem played, CM Nitish Kumar started saying something to Chief Secretary Deepak Kumar, then folded his hands in greeting towards the people standing in front of him and started laughing. Principal Secretary Deepak Kumar intervened and gestured him to stand straight, but the Chief Minister again placed his hand on Deepak’s shoulder and spoke to him.

Deepak Kumar did not respond to Bihar CM; instead, he tried to remind the CM that the national anthem was playing. Unfazed Bihar CM continued clapping and engaging with people during the anthem. All this happened while everyone else present stood respectfully for the national anthem.

Later, when he was presented with a memento, he unexpectedly ran across the stage and gave it to media person, leaving the everyone surprised.

Former Bihar CM and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav attacked Bihar CM over the viral video, questioning his mental and physical ability to remain as the Chief Minister of the state.

Responding to the video on X, Tejashwi said, “At the very least, please do not disrespect the national anthem, Honorable Chief Minister. You already insult the youth, students, women, and the elderly on a daily basis. Sometimes you mock Mahatma Gandhi’s martyrdom by clapping on his death anniversary, and at other times, you disrespect the national anthem!”

“P.S.: Let me remind you that you are the Chief Minister of a large state. Even for a few seconds, you appear neither mentally nor physically stable, and your continued presence in this state of unconsciousness is deeply concerning for the state. Please stop repeatedly humiliating Bihar,” he added.
