The political atmosphere in Bihar has started heating up regarding the assembly elections to be held next year. All political parties have started their preparations. But amid all this, the silence of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has attracted everyone’s attention.

Although Nitish Kumar is taking out Pragati Yatra in the state and meeting the general public, but his not giving any statement on any major issue has become a topic of discussion in the political circles. It is being said that Nitish Kumar is angry with the NDA, and that is why he is maintaining silence on many important issues.

Nitish Kumar did not respond on major issues

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has not given any opinion on recent major national issues like Waqf Board Amendment Bill and One Nation One Election.

  • He is currently active in state politics and is meeting the public through Pragati Yatra.
  • The participation of BJP leaders in this yatra has raised more questions.
  • Despite this, there is speculation that Nitish Kumar is angry with BJP on some issues.

Tejashwi Yadav’s statement created a stir

RJD leader and Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav made a big allegation against Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and said:

“CM Nitish Kumar is not conscious. He is not running the government of Bihar. Some retired officers are running the government. Only two-four of their leaders are running the government and they have completely hijacked Nitish Kumar.”

BJP hit back at Tejashwi

Bihar BJP President Dilip Jaiswal reacted sharply to this statement of Tejashwi Yadav:

“The opposition has now forgotten its values. Tejashwi’s statement is like a playful cat scratching a pillar.”

Santosh Suman also responded saying:

“Tejashwi Yadav is frustrated. When he is going among the public, he is not getting any support. That is why he is saying such things.”

Possible reasons for Nitish Kumar’s displeasure

Many reasons are being given behind Nitish Kumar’s silence and his displeasure with BJP:

1. Decision pending on Chief Minister post

  • NDA has not yet announced the chief ministerial face for the Bihar assembly elections.
  • Home Minister Amit Shah had recently said that this decision will be taken after the meeting.
  • However, BJP has repeatedly said that the elections will be fought under the leadership of Nitish Kumar.

2. Concern about Dalit community

  • Dalit population in Bihar is about 20%.
  • Nitish Kumar is reportedly angry over Home Minister Amit Shah’s statement regarding Ambedkar.
  • He does not want to upset the Dalits, as this is an important part of his political strategy.

3. Controversy over posting of senior officers

  • Nitish Kumar is unhappy with the posting of senior officers in the state from Delhi.
  • They feel that this is weakening the administrative control of the state government.

Purpose of Nitish’s Pragati Yatra

The aim of Nitish Kumar’s Pragati Yatra is to communicate with the public and garner support for the upcoming elections.

  • He is listening to the issues of the public and taking feedback of the government schemes.
  • This visit is being considered as an attempt to strengthen the political hold of Nitish Kumar.
