According to sources, betting app owner Saurabh Chandrakar has been detained by Interpol, after which the process of bringing him back to India has started. According to sources, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) team can bring Mahadev App owner Saurabh Chandrakar to India within a week. It is being told that Interpol has given this information to the nodal agency CBI. ED had issued Red Corner Notice in this case.

Mastermind Saurabh Chandrakar

Sources have also informed that Saurabh Chandrakar, the mastermind of Mahadev App, has connections with D Company (Dawood Ibrahim). Cases have been registered against Mahadev App in many states of the country. A complaint has also been lodged in ED regarding this app. Earlier, in December 2023, Saurabh Chandrakar was put under house arrest in Dubai. On November 5, 2023, the Central Government had ordered to block 22 illegal betting apps and websites including Mahadev Betting App.

ED has also registered

Following the recommendations of the ED, orders were issued under Section 69A of the Information Technology Act. The Mahadev online betting app case came into limelight when ED claimed to have recorded email details of a ‘cash courier’ in which then Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel had allegedly received Rs 508 crore from UAE-based app promoters. . However, Baghel had denied the allegations. ED had registered the case on 8 November. The accused were accused of cheating and gambling. In this case, a case was registered against more than 30 people including Saurabh Chandrakar, Ravi Uppal at Matunga Police Station.

Formation of SIT

A case was registered against more than 30 people, including Ravi Uppal, which was later handed over to the Mumbai Crime Branch and later an SIT was formed to investigate. Actually, in this case the social worker had filed a petition in the lower court. In which action was demanded against the app and its promoters. During this hearing, the court asked Matunga police to register the case. Police said that FIR has been registered against Saurabh, Ravi etc. According to the FIR, the accused have cheated people of about Rs 15 thousand crores.
