Donald Trump’s new initiative has brought big relief to TikTok in America. Recently, this popular short-video app was removed from the app stores, but now it is being made available again. TikTok thanked Donald Trump for this step and said that with his help the app is ready to provide its services again to 17 crore American users and 7 million small businesses.
TikTok’s statement: Preparation for a fresh start
TikTok said it is in the process of restarting its services based on the new agreement with service providers. The company thanked Trump for his clarity and cooperation and said that now it will not face any kind of legal penalty.
Announcement of issuance of executive order
Taking immediate action on the issue, Donald Trump said he would issue an executive order on Monday. The purpose of this order is to provide additional time for TikTok and remove any legal hurdles.
Trump said,
“I will issue an executive order on Monday to extend the deadline and protect national security. This will help prevent the closure of TikTok, and no legal responsibility will be imposed on any company.”
Emphasis on partnership between TikTok and America
Donald Trump suggested that American companies should have a 50% stake in the operations of TikTok. He said,
“We want to keep TikTok safe and in good hands. TikTok’s existence is not possible without US approval. “With our permission, its value could reach hundreds of billions or perhaps even trillions of dollars.”
Background: The story of Bain and the solution
A legal ban was imposed on TikTok during the Biden government, due to which the app stopped working in the US on Saturday evening. After this, Trump took steps and promised a solution and ensured the return of the app.
Withdrawal of apps from Apple and Google stores
Earlier, Apple and Google had removed TikTok from their app stores. Users were informed about the closure of the app through notification. But after Trump’s intervention, the app was made available for download again.
