Mumbai: Information has come to light that the state government will take action against Baleshah Pir Dargah at Meera Bhayandar, Thane. There is every possibility that the government will use bulldozers. The government of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has ordered the dargah to be demolished by May 10. Therefore, the question of this dargah has arisen once again.
There is a mosque near this dargah located in Meera Bhayandar, Mumbai, where Namaz is performed. Located near a hill in Uttan village, this pargah has now become a cause of controversy. The matter is pending in the High Court. In such a situation, it is being said that the court will give a verdict on the allegations of building the dargah by damaging government land and mangroves. Politics in Meera Bhayandar has become hot after the government’s order to demolish the dargah.
Meanwhile, according to the information given by the state revenue minister and BJP state president Chandrashekhar Bawankule, the dargah is located in the Chowk area of Meera Bhayandar. A dargah has been built in an area of 10,000 sq ft in that area. Now action will be taken to run bulldozers at this shrine.
How did the dispute start?
In 2011, the police wrote a secret letter to Meera Bhayandar District Magistrate, calling the Dargah a threat to security. Police feared that terrorists could enter the area by sea and hide in the dargah. Therefore, it was recommended to take immediate action against the dargah. BJP leader Niranjan Davkhare raised this issue in the recently concluded Maharashtra Legislative Assembly budget session. It was also demanded that the dargah be removed as soon as possible, as it is a big threat to security.
