Finance Ministry: There is often a discussion among the people in the country that 10 and 20 rupee coins are going to be closed. However, now the government has given great information about 10 and 20 rupees coins and notes in response to a question asked in the Lok Sabha. This answer has resolved all the questions and doubts arising in the minds of the people.

The Finance Ministry replied.

The Finance Ministry was asked the question that how many 10 rupees coins and notes are currently in circulation in the country? In response, the Finance Ministry said that even today 10 and 20 coins and notes are being printed and in vogue. As of 31 December 2024, 2,52,886 lakh 10 rupee notes are in circulation in the market, which is priced at Rs 25,289 crore. Apart from this, till 31 December 2024, the country has coins worth Rs 79,502 lakh 10, which cost Rs 7950 crore.

20 rupee note is still printed

Apart from this, the Finance Ministry was asked whether the printing of new notes of 20 rupees in the country has been banned? Answering this question, the Finance Ministry said that this is not true. Therefore, it is clear that even though we see less 10 and 20 rupee notes and coins in the market, they are in vogue. The news that comes from time to time and being out of circulation is completely misleading.

A coin of 20 rupees was introduced for the first time in 2020

It is noteworthy that the government first introduced a coin of 20 rupees in 2020. At that time, the government had said that a 20 rupee note would be a multi -grain -shaped 12 -armed multiplication, which will show the dominance of agriculture in the country. Apart from this, a new series of coins of one, two, five and ten rupees will also be released, which will be in the circular design, which will be written in the Hindi script.
