Punjab Police has achieved another major success and busted a Pakistan-ISI supported terrorist module. In this, five members of the module including Abhijot Singh, the mastermind of the grenade attacks on police stations in Batala and Gurdaspur, have been arrested. DGP Gaurav Yadav said that this module was working at the behest of foreign operators of Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) Harpreet Singh alias Happy Pasiya and Shamsher alias Honey.
Details of attack and arrest
This action was taken after the grenade attacks on Bangar Police Station in Batala on December 12 and Wadala Bangar Police Station in Gurdaspur on December 20. BKI had taken responsibility for these incidents on social media. The other four arrested accused have been identified as Kuljeet Singh, Rohit alias Ghisi, Shubham, and Gurjinder Singh alias Raja (all residents of Kilah Lal Singh, Batala).

Police recovered two pistols from their possession, including a 9 mm Glock-26 (Austria made) and a .32 bore pistol. Besides, six live cartridges have also been recovered.
Police encounter and injured accused
DGP said that when the police team was taking Abhijot Singh and Kuljeet Singh for recovery, they tried to escape from the custody by attacking the police. The police acted in self-defense, in which both were injured. He was admitted to Civil Hospital Batala, where his condition is stable.

DIG Border Range Satinder Singh said that the accused were caught by conducting a special operation under the supervision of SSP Batala Suhail Kasim Mir. The investigation into the case is ongoing, and more arrests are likely in the coming days.
