Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that the government will spend Rs 1435 crore for this. 10 digit PAN card is a document issued by the Income Tax Department. By making it more advanced, the government wants to make it better and safer. Its purpose is to strengthen digital security and reduce the possibility of fraud and data theft.

The new PAN card will be quite different from the old one. The new PAN cards will have QR code. For this, paperlane i.e. online process will be adopted. The most important thing is that people will not have to spend separate money for this, people will not need to spend separate money for PAN with QR code. The data will be completely safe in the new PAN card with scanner. People will not need to pay separately for PAN with QR code.

How different will PAN Card 2.0 be?

Union Cabinet has approved the new PAN card, Government has approved the PAN 2.0 project. The project aims to make PAN cards more secure and make the Permanent Account Number (PAN) of taxpayers a ‘common business identifier’ for all government agencies. Along with this, along with better quality of PAN card, its service is to be made easier and faster. The new PAN card will be quite different from the old PAN card. In the new PAN card i.e. PAN 2.0, the card will be issued with QR code.
