Allahabad High Court’s big decision on Jama Masjid: Allahabad High Court has taken a big decision in the Sambhal Temple-Mosque dispute. Allahabad High Court has stayed the hearing going on in the district court on the temple-mosque dispute case going on in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh. The High Court will next hear this case on 25 February. Allahabad High Court has imposed this ban while hearing the petition filed by the arrangement committee of Shahi Jama Masjid of Sambhal. On Wednesday, a single bench of Justice Rohit Ranjan Aggarwal heard the case in the High Court.

The application was filed by Intejamia Committee

A petition was filed in the High Court on behalf of the Arrangement Committee regarding the Jama Masjid of Sambhal. In this petition, a demand was made to stop the hearing going on in the district court. This case was filed by Harishankar Jain and others in the district court of Sambhal on 19 November. The petition said that there was earlier a temple on the site of Shahi Jama Masjid. In this case the district court ordered a survey. Its survey report has been filed in the lower court.

What did the management survey report reveal?

According to media reports, the survey report mentions more than 50 flower symbols related to Hindu religion. Apart from this, two banyan trees were also found. There is also a possibility of a well in the mosque. Now since all these evidences are related to Hindu religion, it is said that before this mosque there was a temple here. The survey also revealed that the old structure has been modified. Apart from this, some evidence of new construction has also been found.

The survey report has also made a claim regarding the big chandelier installed in the mosque. It has been argued that in fact, bells in temples were tied to the same chains on which chandeliers hang today.

Sambhal is also important politically

Apart from its religious importance, Sambhal and its surrounding areas are also politically important for the BJP. Except in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, BJP has not got any significant success here. SP and BSP have got success from here. SP founder Mulayam Singh Yadav himself won from here in 1998 and 1999 and Ram Gopal Yadav reached Parliament from here in 2004.
