The highly anticipated event, known for showcasing the best young thoroughbreds in the country, witnessed an electrifying contest, but Big Bay proved to be in a league of his own.
Interestingly, it was only FPJ tipsters who had accurately predicted Big Bay’s triumph, further solidifying their reputation for sharp insights and race-day expertise.
Having narrowly missed out on glory in the recently held Indian Derby, ace jockey Suraj Narredu was on a mission to redeem himself. From the moment the gates flew open, Narredu positioned Big Bay smartly in the 16-horse field, ensuring the gelding stayed well within striking distance in second place. After a promising start, he struggled to match Big Bay’s late charge and was ultimately edged out in a nail-biting photo finish by Circle of Dreams, who secured second place by just a short head. Prokofiev had to settle for a disappointing third, much to the dismay of his backers.
Big Bay’s dominant display not only solidified his rising star status but also underscored the brilliance of Suraj Narredu, who delivered a tactical masterclass in the saddle.
