Mumbai: In a grand ceremony held at the Yashwantrao Chavan Centre Auditorium on December 24, 2024, Dharam Veer Meena, General Manager of Central Railway, presented awards to outstanding individuals and divisions for their meritorious performance.
The Bhusaval Division was awarded the Overall Efficiency Shield, while 23 Inter-Divisional Efficiency Shields were presented to various divisions, workshops, and stations. Additionally, 97 railway officers and staff received the “Visisht Rail Seva Puraskar” for their excellence in performance ¹.
“Bhusaval Division won the GM’s Overall Efficiency Shield for their meritorious performance this year with 5 independent Shields for Safety, Electrical, Signal & Telecom, Personal and Security and 2 Shields namely Stores Shield and the EnHM Shield jointly with Pune and Solapur Divisions respectively” said an official.
Nagpur Division won 4 Shields for Mechanical, Accounts, Works Efficiency and Cleanliness.
Mumbai Division won the Commercial and Operating Shield individually and the Medical Shield & Engineering Shield jointly with Pune Division.
Pune Division won the Track Machine Shield individually and won the Medical Shield & Engineering Shield jointly with Mumbai Division and the Stores Shield with Bhusaval Division.
Solapur Division won the individual Shield for Punctuality and shared the EnHM Shield jointly with Bhusaval Division.
Matunga Workshop won the Workshop Efficiency Shield (Electrical/Mechanical) while Daund & Satara Construction Unit won the Shield for “Best Construction Unit”.
Solapur Station won the Best Station for Cleanliness Shield under NSG-1 to NSG-4 category stations, while Satara Station of Pune Division won the Best Station for Cleanliness Shield under NSG-5, NSG-6, SG-1 to SG-3 category stations.
The garden at Multai station of Nagpur Division won the Best Kept Garden at Station Shield with garden at Ahmednagar station of Pune Division coming 2nd.
The General Manager also awarded 97 Railway Officers & Staff with the “Visisht Rail Seva Puraskar” for meritorious and commendable performance.
In the Individual Awards Category, Mumbai Division raced ahead with 24 of its employees getting the Award closely followed by Bhusaval Division with 19 and Headquarters getting 18 individual Awards.
13 employees from Pune Division, 12 from Nagpur Division and 8 from Solapur Division were also awarded.
The Workshops also got their share with 1 employee each from Signal & Telecom Workshop, Matunga Workshop and Parel Workshop getting the award.
Speaking on the occasion The General Manager elaborated Central Railway’s achievements especially at the recently held “Ati Visisht Rail Seva Puraskar Function. He also stated that Central Railway being the forebearer of Pioneer GIP Railway, can proudly say हम जहां खड़े हैं, वहीं से भारत में रेल्वे शुरू हुई है (”Hum Jahan Khade Hain, Wahin Se Bharat Mein Railway Shuru Hui Hai”)
He congratulated all the awardees and said that he was proud to have a strong workforce comprising of all Principal Heads of Departments, Divisional Railway Managers, Officers and Staff.
He also motivated those who could not get the award this time with words of encouragement. He stressed the importance of working as a team with dedication and a common goal in mind to achieve success. He said “These awards reinforce the notion that hard work and dedication are valued and appreciated and will surely bear fruit sooner or later”.
The ceremony was attended by Jagmohan Garg, Additional General Manager, Saharsh Bajpai, Principal Chief Personnel Officer, and Dr. Swapnil Nila, Chief Public Relations Officer, Central Railway. Meena also unveiled the Central Railway Calendar for 2025 during the function
