Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The state government transferred two IPS officers on Wednesday. Managing Director of the Police Housing Corporation Upendra Jain was transferred as Director General (DG) of Economic Offences Wing (EWO).
Similarly, DG of EOW Ajay Sharma was transferred as Chairman of Police Housing Corporation with the additional charge of MD. The officers were shifted after the appointment of Kailash Makwana as Director General of Police (DGP). Sharma was in EOW for over three years. His name was doing the rounds for the post of DGP. Many more officers may be shifted in the coming days. Makwana is planning to carry out some changes in posting in the police headquarters.
In the proposed reshuffle, the departments of several officers may be changed. After taking over as DGP, Makwana met Chief Minister Mohan Yadav.
During the meeting, there were talks about shifting officers from the police headquarters and those in the field posting. The transfer of two officers indicates that such shifting is in the offing.
Whenever the officials are transferred, other than a few of them in the police headquarters, some superintendents of police may also be changed.
CM, CS, hold meeting
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and Chief Secretary Anurag Jain held a meeting for a long time on Tuesday night. The meeting may be linked with the transfers.
According to sources, new incumbents may be shifted to two departments being run by in-charge officers. Director of mining, MD of MP Public Health Services Corporation, and commissioner of Housing Board need to be posted. Besides, the heads of many departments and MDs of corporations may be changed.
