Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Cops at Katara Hills police station cracked a case of theft and arrested a youth who stole the laptop of his friend. The accused was nabbed while he was trying to sell the stolen laptop to a person, police said. As per reports, Maggidi Saibardhan is pursuing BTech from a private engineering college.
On December 25, Maggidi approached police and informed that his Apple laptop worth Rs 85k was stolen from his room while he had gone out in the park to play badminton. Police lodged an FIR on his complaint and launched a hunt for the thief.
A team under in-charge at Katara Hills police station Brajendra Nigam was searching for the accused when they received a tip-off about a youth who was trying to sell a laptop to one Vishnu Sharma at Laharpur. The police team raided the spot and nabbed the suspect who was identified as Syed Mohd Zaid Hasan.
Following interrogation, police recovered the stolen laptop from his room. Further investigations revealed that Zaid Hasan (19) hails from Darbhanga district in Bihar and were presently living at Gaurshankar Campus in Katara Hills area.
Zaid Hasan was also pursuing BTech from the same college and was a friend of Maggidi Saibardhan. He informed police that he had gone to meet his friend on December 25 but was not found in his room. Zaid then stole the laptop and fled. A case has been registered against the accused and he has been sent to jail, police officials said.
