Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The Income Tax (IT) department has seized a whopping 52 kilograms of gold, valued at approximately ₹40.47 crore, from an abandoned car in the dense forests of Mendori in Bhopal on intervening night of Thursday and Friday. The operation comes amidst ongoing IT raids targeting major real estate groups across the state.

In addition to the gold, the IT team has reportedly seized bundles of cash from the same vehicle.

The gold was allegedly being transported out of the state when the IT department intercepted it based on evidence gathered during the raids. The operation to seize the gold involved over 100 police personnel and a convoy of 30 vehicles. The vehicle carrying the gold was apprehended before it could leave the Mendori area.
