Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A pigeon fancier’s worst nightmare is to lose their prized possession… the fluttering birds! One such fancier in Bhopal rushed to the police station when he woke up and his cage full of 35 pigeons was missing!
The victim alleged that he had over 35 different types of pigeons that he kept in a cage. When he woke up on Sunday morning, he found that the cage and the pigeons had been stolen. Taking cognisance of the victim’s complaint, police filed an FIR and have started scanning the CCTV cameras in the vicinity.
According to information, the victim has been identified as Junaid Ahmad, a resident of Shirnagar Colony in the Gautam Nagar area of the city. According to reports, Ahmad is a hardcore pigeon fancier and had over 35 different pigeons. Of the stolen pigeons, there was the one that had won first place in the flying competition by flying continuously for 11 hours and 50 minutes.
Talking to the police, Ahmad alleged that on the night before he fed the pigeons and locked the cage. The next morning, when he went to feed the pigeons, he found out that the cage, along with his winged friends, had been stolen. Ahmad then approached the Gautam Nagar police and lodged a complaint against unidentified thieves. Police officials said an FIR had been registered and CCTV footage in the vicinity was being scanned to identify the culprits. The cost of the stolen pigeons is still to be ascertained.
