BHIM (Bharat Interface for Money) 3.0, the latest version of the popular app from NPCI, brings a range of exciting new features for users. The app now allows users to easily track, manage, and split expenses with family, friends, and colleagues. BHIM 3.0 will be rolled out gradually on platforms like the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, and is expected to be fully available by April 2025. Around 486 banks are already integrated with the app.
Key Features for Users
BHIM 3.0 introduces several new features to make managing money simpler. The app is now available in over 15 Indian languages. It has improved functionality for areas with slow or unstable internet connections, ensuring smooth transactions. One of the standout features is the spend analytics tool, which automatically categorizes and tracks your expenses. Users can easily monitor monthly spending and plan budgets without needing complicated spreadsheets.
Additionally, the app allows users to onboard family members, track shared expenses, and assign specific payments to each person. This feature helps families better plan and manage their finances together. BHIM 3.0 also has a built-in task assistant to remind users of pending bill payments linked to the app. For small transactions, users can enable UPI Lite, which allows for quicker, low-value payments, with notifications for low wallet balances.
New Features for Merchants
BHIM 3.0 also introduces BHIM Vega, a feature designed for merchants. BHIM Vega enables seamless in-app payments, allowing customers to complete transactions directly within the app without needing third-party apps. This integration makes payments faster and more convenient for online merchants.
