Mumbai, January 30: The commuters in Mumbai may experience temporary changes in their travel routes as several Brihanmumbai Electric Supply & Transport (BEST) bus services have been rerouted due to ongoing sewage pipeline work between Nana Chowk and Godrej Chowk on August Kranti Maidan Road in the Mumbai Central area on Thursday, January 30.
BEST Bus Transport confirmed the update on social media, stating, “Due to the collapse of the gutter on August Kranti Marg, the up-direction traffic has been closed, therefore bus routes No. A104, A122, A121, A135 have been diverted via Pandita Ramabai Marg and Patkar Marg.”
According to the official announcement, bus routes 104, 121, 122 and 135 have been diverted. These buses will now follow an alternate route via Ramabai Marg – Dalvi Hospital – right turn onto Babulnath Marg proceeding towards Kemps Corner instead of their usual path.
As a result, the bus stops at Nana Chowk and August Kranti Maidan will be temporarily unavailable. The rerouting was implemented at 11:40 AM in the morning today and will remain in effect until the completion of the pipeline work.
In a latest update, Mumbai Traffic Police (MTP) issued an advisory stating that the traffic is slow moving on Forgett Street in Tardeo due to water pipeline leakage in the area. The MTP tweeted, “Traffic Movement Is Slow At Forgett street Tardeo Due To Water Pipeline Leakage.”
Passengers are encouraged to plan their journeys accordingly and make use of the alternative bus stops along the revised route as announced by the BEST.
