A Bengaluru man was seen carrying three dogs on the roof of his car in the busy Kalyan Nagar area of the city. He drove the car with the animals placed on the car roof. The visuals conveyed the drive being risky for the lives of the animals as well as in terms of road safety. When a fellow motorist questioned the incident, the man driving the vehicle reacted in an abusive manner.

Arrested

In an update regarding the incident, the man was arrested by the police and was identified as a hairstylist named Harish, who drove his car with a fake “Press” label.

The Banaswadi police registered a case against Harish under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act and Section 351 (2) (criminal intimidation) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), reported Times Of India while mentioning that the cops traced the address on the car’s registered number plate to arrest him from his house. Also, the cops seized his vehicle pointing out that further investigation is underway.

Notably, while driving the car with the three dogs he was seen with hair on his head. But, later, when caught by the cops, pictures showed him having shaved his head allegedly in a method to conceal his identify or escape.

The interaction between the two motorists was recorded on camera. In the video, a fellow commuter was seen stopping his vehicle next to the car and questioning the act of driving with animals placed on the car roof.

“Excuse me, this is not safe”, the man reportedly said while the rude car driver to reflect on his action. However, he didn’t take a word from the motorist. He rather started verbally abusing the man for trying to school him in public view.

Abuses hurled when concerning act was questioned

“Take my car number and everything. You fu**er, you mother fu**er. Oh lau*e hogo (go). Ga**du Kun*i ninnu”, the Bengaluru man driving the car that carried three dogs on its roof without a harness or chain for protection said while hurling a series of abuses on the fellow motorist who questioned the man’s actions and later uploaded the video online.

Car continued with dogs on top for 2 kms in Bengaluru

Instead of stepping down and carrying the dogs safely inside the car, the Bengaluru man driving the car on a busy street with three dogs on the vehicle’s roof argued with the other person. He verbally abused the man and continued to do as he willed.

The caption of the video, which recorded the incident and is now going viral, described the car was driven for about 2 kms with three dogs placed on the roof. The incident took place on the night of December 3. No rope or chain was tied to the dogs protecting them from falling off.

Notably, the car was being driven on loud music. It carried the “Press” label along with another text reading “Hari likes risks”.

Initial Police action

Several internet users shared this video across social media platforms, drawing the attention of the police. Netizens urged the police to look into the matter and ensure strict punishment for the man driving the car with three innocent lives on its roof.

As the video went viral online, the Bengaluru City Police reacted on X. In their post, the police team wrote that they have informed about the incident to the local police station where the car was spotted.

“We have informed to concerned police officers for necessary action”, the official and main X (formerly Twitter) handle of the city police wrote tagging the Deputy Commissioner of Police, East division and the Banaswadi Police Station.

However, in an update, it was reported that the police have taken action against the car owner who was driving the vehicle with dogs on the roof. As informed, he was identified as Harish, a hairstylist who was arrested under relevant sections of the BNS.
