VIDEO | Beed Horror: Woman Lawyer Beaten Black And Blue By Sarpanch & Aides For Complaining About Temple Noise To Cops |
Another shocking incident of assault has come to light from Beed district, this time from Ambajogai tehsil in Sangaon, where a young woman lawyer has alleged that she was mercilessly beaten by the village sarpanch and his workers. The victim, Dnyaneshwari Anjan, who practices at the Ambajogai Sessions Court, was attacked on April 14 for complaining to cops about the noise from a nearby temple in her village.
Dnyaneshwari Anjan, who is a lawyer in the Ambajogai Sessions Court, claimed in an interview to Marathi media that she was brutally beaten up by the village sarpanch and his workers on April 14 with pipes.
In the photos shared by Dnyaneshwari Anjan from Sangaon in Ambajogai tehsil, which have gone viral on social media, one can see the big assault marks that have turned into black and blue bruises on her back. There was a stir after this incident came to light.
Anjan, who is suffering from migraines and back pain, was having great difficulty even speaking in the interview and claimed that the Panchayat started three flour mills near her house which increased her migraine issues.
Here’s what she said
In an interview, she said that on February 23, 2023, the sound of the horn of a temple in the village was loud, and she was studying at that time. “I could not focus on my studies due to the loud noise. At that time, I called Sarpanch Anant Anjan and asked him to reduce the sound of the horn. He said that he would ask the employee to reduce the sound. However, nothing happened even after two hours. When I called again, the sarpanch said that the employee was not picking up his call. So I went to the house of the employee concerned and asked him to lower the volume of the temple horn, but he said that I could not go to the temple as I had eaten non-veg. So when I called the sarpanch again, he asked me to complain to the police. I still called the village development officer first. He said that he would lower the volume when he came tomorrow. To this, I said, what should I do if the volume continues till morning? I was suffering and could not bear the volume. So I called the police station and complained. The police intervened and reduced the volume. Then the next day, the sarpanch came to my house with his people. He put pressure on my parents. After this incident, the sarpanch deliberately started three flour mills near our house. This continuous noise gave me a severe migraine. I also have back pain,” alleged Dnyaneshwari Anjan.
This incident is believed to have happened on April 14. Although the police have registered a case in this regard, Dnyaneshwari Anjan has not been given a copy of the FIR. In this regard, Sharad Pawar group leader Jitendra Awhad posted on X.
