BCCI: The Indian cricket team had to face defeat 1-3 in the five-Test series on Australia tour. Regarding this, BCCI held a review meeting with head coach Gautam Gambhir and captain Rohit Sharma. Now according to a media report, to improve the batting of the Indian team, a new member may be included in Gambhir’s support staff, which may also include Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.

A new member will be added to Gambhir’s support staff

According to the report, BCCI is working on strengthening the support staff of head coach Gautam Gambhir. A new batting coach may join India’s coaching staff. However, it has not yet been announced that the new member will be assigned the role. But it is believed that he can be a batting coach. Due to which the batting of the rest of the Indian team including Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma can improve.

Gautam Gambhir’s support staff currently includes Morne Morkel (bowling coach), Abhishek Nair (assistant coach), Ryan ten Doeschate (assistant coach) and T Dilip (fielding coach). Now there is a plan to add a batting coach to the team. Some names are under consideration. However, no final decision has been taken yet.

 

Decision can be taken before Champions Trophy

Now the Indian team has started preparations for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 to be held in Pakistan and Dubai. Due to which BCCI may soon give place to some support staff in the team. So that the players can connect with the new members and perform well in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 to be held in February. India will play its first match against Bangladesh in Dubai from 20th February.
