To make the IPL more exciting, the Impact Player Rules were implemented and the BCCI has decided that the rule will continue in this season as well. This means that the impact player rule will also be used in this season.
This request was made by experienced cricketers.
The decision to lift the ban on spit use was considered almost fixed, as players like Mohammed Shami had urged the authorities to abolish the rule. Shami recently said after the Champions Trophy match in Dubai, “We have always requested the authorities to allow us to use spit so that swing and reverse can be used during the match.” His statement was also supported by players like Vernon Philander and Tim Southee.
