Mumbai: The Board of Control for Cricket In India (BCCI) on Saturday announced the squad for the Champions Trophy 2025 and the upcoming one-day internationals (ODIs) with England. Rohit Sharma will lead the team, while Shubhman Gill has been appointed as the Vice Captain. Mohammed Shami is making comeback in the ODI team after 14 months.

Jasprit Bumrah has been included in the 15-member Champions Trophy team. Notably, Bumrah did not bowl in the second innings of the Sydney Test due to back spasms, raising concerns over his match fitness for India’s upcoming two white-ball tournaments.

For the England ODI series, Harshit Rana has been announced as Bumrah’s replacement. Except for this change, the rest of the squad for the England series will remain the same.

“Bumrah was asked to offload for five weeks, BCCI will put something out from the medical team. Hopefully, he is okay after the first week of February,” said Chief selector of men’s cricket team Ajit Agarkar in a press conference.

Yashasvi Jaiswal has also got the ODI call due to his brilliant performance in other two formats of the game. Shreyas Iyer, who was out of the ODI team after the 2023 ODI Men’s World Cup, included in the side.

The press briefing was held after a delay of more than two hours at the BCCI headquarters in Mumbai
