Veenu Mankad was also dragged into controversies and the word ‘Mankading’ started in cricket in his name. In 1947, Veenu runs out Australian batsman Bill Brown. Venu was bowling at that time. As Brown left the crease, Veenu runs out. However, Vinu also warned him before dismissing Brown. Vinu had dismissed Brown twice during that tour. According to the rules of cricket, this run out is valid. However, this type of run out was known as ‘Mankading’.
