The Bar Council of India (BCI) will soon release the preliminary answer key for the All India Bar Examination (AIBE 19) on its official website, allindiabarexamination.com. The AIBE 19 exam, held on December 22, assesses candidates’ eligibility to practice law in Indian courts.

The answer key will be provisional, and applicants can raise objections before a specified deadline. After reviewing the challenges, subject experts will finalize the answer key and announce the AIBE 19 results.

As per the updated eligibility criteria, final-year law students with no backlogs and without an enrollment certificate are also eligible for AIBE 19.

This year’s exam syllabus has been updated to include three new subjects: Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (replacing the Indian Penal Code, 1860), Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (replacing the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973), and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (replacing the Indian Evidence Act, 1872).

The AIBE 2024 exam lasted three and a half hours, consisting of 100 one-mark questions. There will be no negative marking for incorrect answers.

For AIBE 18, a total of 1,48,781 candidates registered, with 1,44,014 attending the exam. Of those, 69,646 candidates passed, while 74,368 failed.
