Jaipur: With one MP and four MLAs, the Bharatiya Adivasi Party (BAP) has been accorded as the state level party in Rajasthan. BAP convener and MP Rajkumar Roat informed this on social media. In terms of number of MLAs in the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly, BAP is the third-largest party after BJP-Congress.

“Thank you to all the party officials, workers, and voters for BAP getting the status of a state party from the Election Commission. By working day and night, they all made an invaluable contribution in getting the party the status of a state party in a very short time,” said Banswara-Durgapur MP Rajkumar Roat in his social media post.

BAP has one MP as well as 4 MLAs in Rajasthan. The party convener Rajkumar Roat is the MP from Banswara-Dungarpur Lok Sabha seat, while Anil Katara from Chaurasi, Umesh Damor from Aspur, Thawarchand Damor from Dhariyavad and Jaikrishna Patel is MLAs from Bagidaura.

Active in the tribal belt of south Rajasthan, the party has made significant presence in assembly, Loksabha and assembly by-elections held in the state in the last one year.

BAP contested the assembly elections for the first time in the year 2023 and fared well by winning Chaurasi, Aspur and Dhariyavad seats. After this, Chaurasi MLA Rajkumar Roat became MP in the Lok Sabha elections. BAP won the by-elections on both Bagidaura and Chaurasi seats as well.
